We as computer users, and the network (the Internet) is very common to hear the term "virus" is sometimes often annoy the victim. The term "virus" was first used by Fred Cohen in 1984 in the United States. Computer viruses are called "viruses" because they have some fundamental similarities with the virus at a medical term (biological viruses).
Computer viruses can be interpreted as a regular computer program, but have fundamental differences with other programs. Viruses are written to infect, alter, manipulate, even to destroy other programs. It
should be noted, the virus will infect only when the trigger program or
programs that have been infected earlier executed, this is where the
difference with the worm.
Origin of Viruses
Elk
Cloner virus was declared one of the first micro computer virus has
managed to spread out of the scope of the place of manufacture. Created by Rich Skrenta, a high school student who was then 15 years old, in 1982. Elk Cloner virus he created, when it was intended for the Apple II computer system.

At that Skrenta no longer trusted by his friends. It was caused by the behavior that illegally distribute games and software. He also often use floppy disks to turn off the computer or to display the mocking words on the screen. Finally, Skrenta also devised a method to do it without the help of a floppy disk so that it is not suspected.
During the winter holiday period at Mt. Lebanon
High School, Pennsylvania, USA, Skrenta found a method to automatically
display a message on his computer, and he finally found what we today
know as the boot sector virus. As a first step, he
began to spread the virus of his own results in the friends of the
school as well as in one of the computer club.
From sources obtained, the virus spread quickly and successfully infect floppy disks people he knew, including math teacher. Many troublesome virus infected victims. Can imagine how troublesome because it was not a single antivirus program. Elk Cloner virus can only be removed manually with a fairly complicated steps.
Elk Cloner virus spreads by infecting the Apple II operating system by using a boot sector virus. This
means that if we boot the computer using a floppy disk that is
infected, the virus will be automatically copied to the computer's
memory. When no floppy disk is clean of viruses inserted
into a computer that has been infected by viruses, malicious programs
will copy into the floppy.
Infected computer will display a screen when booting into the poem 50. In conclusion, the Elk Cloner virus does not make mischief, but only change the system that contains the Apple DOS floppy. Currently, Skrenta believed to be the CEO of one search engine company headquartered in Redwood City, California, United States
